Common questions
What does the $180 diagnosis fee cover?
The $180 flat fee covers a licensed technician dispatched to your location to assess one equipment issue on one unit, same-day, with arrival confirmed within hours and faster for urgent requests. On site, the technician identifies the problem, documents it with photos or a walkthrough video, and submits a written diagnosis report with a fix plan, the parts required, and an estimated repair timeline. The fee is the same regardless of urgency, day, or time. No repair work begins until you approve the quote that follows. This service is part of how Boh, which manages back-of-house repairs, maintenance, and compliance for Southern California restaurants, gives operators a firm picture of a problem and its cost before committing to a fix.
Is the diagnosis fee credited toward the repair?
Yes. If you approve a repair quote for the same issue and equipment at the same location within 14 days of the diagnosis visit, the $180 fee is credited toward the cost of that repair. If you decide not to proceed, there is no further obligation: the diagnosis report and quote are yours, and you are free to use them however you choose.
What happens if the equipment should be replaced instead of repaired?
The technician will tell you directly. If the assessment determines that replacing a unit is more cost-effective than repairing it, that recommendation goes in the diagnosis report and quote before any repair work is authorized. The purpose of the visit is an honest picture of what is wrong and what it will take to fix it, which includes flagging the cases where a repair does not make financial sense.
How fast can a technician diagnose my equipment?
A licensed technician is matched to your request and scheduling is confirmed within hours of booking, with same-day dispatch in most cases and faster handling for urgent requests. Response times can vary on weekends and holidays. Because downtime in a commercial kitchen costs money every hour a unit is out of service, the diagnosis step is built to move quickly: book online in under two minutes, get a technician on site the same day, and have a documented repair quote in hand to make a decision.
